Kathleen M. Hamm
Kathleen M. Hamm was appointed a Board Member of the PCAOB by the SEC December 2017, sworn in on January 2018, and served until November 2019. Since September 2018, Board Member Hamm served as Vice Chair of the IFIAR Global Audit Quality Working Group. Hamm served at the U.S. Treasury Department from 2014 to early 2017, as counselor to the deputy secretary on cybersecurity and related governance, regulatory, compliance, and risk management issues facing the financial services sector. She also assisted the deputy secretary in coordinating Treasury’s strategic policy initiatives, domestically and internationally, through a cybersecurity expert group impaneled by the G-7 finance ministers and central bank governors.
Joe Howie
Former EY Partner | 30+ Years in Audit | Fraud Risk Identification & Response | Whistleblower & Internal Investigation Consulting | Commentary on Audit Culture, Fraud Detection, and Investor Protection. Joe spent more than three decades inside the global audit profession, including as a partner at EY. During that time, I worked on complex multinational audits and served in the firm’s U.S. and Global Professional Practice groups, advising engagement teams on difficult accounting, reporting, and audit matters. Over time Joe became increasingly concerned about structural incentives within large accounting firms that can undermine the profession’s core responsibility: protecting investors and supporting the integrity of capital markets and has spoken out about these issues.
Rick Kravitz
Rick Kravitz is an award-winning author and publisher, a member of the American Bar Association and American Institute of CPAs. He is former President and Group Publisher of Panel Publishers/Wolters Kluwer [WK]. Later in his career, residing in the Hague, Netherlands, he served as International Legal/tax Publisher at Wolters Kluwer where his team covered the criminal law proceedings of the United Nations International Court of Justice. Rick is a former Editor in Chief of The CPA Journal including Managing Director of Content and Publishing with the New York Society of CPAs. Most recently he published The Crisis in Public Accounting. The book explores the many failures of the accounting profession to detect, deter and prevent fraud.
